The leading global provider of business information technology solutions is also renown for its emphasis on social responsibility. They asked us to develop a management summit that would not only educate and inspire executives, but reinforce core values of giving back in a personal way.
We selected New Orleans as the meeting site and found the neighborhood most affected by Hurricane Katrina (where every single home was fully flooded under 25′ of water).
We began the 3-day meeting by transporting the managers to the devastated area to overhaul an important community park. All attendees immediately rolled up their sleeves. Global executives worked alongside community members and local employees to completely transform the community park that same afternoon.
The result was a gorgeous, Extreme Makeover-style overhaul. Landscaping was installed, structures were stabilized, the playground swings were repainted, and all debris was hauled away.
Afterwards, our client remarked, “It was one of the most memorable and meaningful projects that we have taken on in our history, and I think our folks left that day knowing they had made a real difference in a New Orleans Parish. The event would clearly not have been as successful without your community connections, your persistence and professionalism and most of all your passion for the project. You have some of the most professional, organized and down right friendly teams that I’ve worked with and I thoroughly enjoyed each and every minute with you.”
