TBA Global Announces New White Paper On The Value Of Meetings

New York, NY ‘ April 10, 2009 - TBA Global, an award-winning connective marketing and communications agency, released a new white paper to address the need for corporations to continue to hold meetings during these difficult economic times. The white paper includes new research on the public perception of meetings, and what companies can do to address these findings.

‘Corporate meetings enhance employee and partner performance and fuel company growth and profitability’ said Lee Rubenstein, President and COO of TBA Global. ‘Corporate meetings also support the needs of the local communities where the meetings take place and aid the American economy as a whole. Now more than ever, smart companies need to continue to hold meetings to reassure and reinvigorate employees, partners and customers. By doing their part to build their business, they’ll also build our economy.’

To gauge American’s opinions of company investment in meetings, TBA Global conducted a study in December 2008. ‘The TBA Global Life Pulse Poll’ survey of American adults was conducted to measure their feelings about corporate investments in opportunities for people to gather.

When asked if companies should invest more or less in community projects, 69% said companies should invest more. ‘Rather than cancelling, the best solution may be to have the meeting as planned but do something meaningful with the host community,’ added Rubenstein.

Research insights included:

- Companies should continue to gather, but in responsible ways.
- Meetings should incorporate a community participation element and contribute meaningfully to the host community.

In December 2008, TBA Global’s launched a Corporate Social Responsibility Council and began offering, as a value added benefit, a community engagement consulting overview for existing clients. These overviews illustrate how events bring the brand’s own CSR to life through engagement activities with local communities and the environment.

Also included in the white paper is a collection of long term data that shows that well executed meetings, designed to meet specific goals, greatly contribute to company profits. The benefits of meetings include the development of engaged employees, improved company culture, more satisfied employees, increased employee retention, and more cost-effective compensation than raises or bonuses.
