Offers Community Engagement Consulting Services to Clients.
New York – December 16, 2008 - TBA Global, a leading connective marketing and communications agency, announced the formation of a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Council to further its strategy and thought leadership around social responsibility, community engagement and environmental initiatives. The CSR Council’s mission is to educate and implement best practices both within the company and on behalf of its clients.
As part of this commitment, TBA Global is offering, as a value added benefit, a community engagement consulting overview to its existing clients. This overview will illustrate how events can bring the Brand’s own CSR to life through engagement activities with local communities and the environment, when associated with their own meetings, live events, and corporate initiatives.
“During these economic times, face-to-face communication increases in importance as companies find they need to reassure, engage and motivate customers and employees about both their mission and long term viability,” said Lee Rubenstein, President and COO of TBA Global. “Companies innately understand the need to continue marketing events for customers and employees, and are challenged by the perception of the worthiness of these events. We believe that face-to-face events can deliver on both business objectives and postive PR by adding a community engagement feature, and sustainable activities to the agenda. Our thinking burnishes the Brand image, and addresses a new opportunity for the Brand to provide critical services in this economy creating positive consumer experiences and impressions. Whether its rebuilding parks and playgrounds to building bicycles for local youth organizations, TBA Global helps our clients add community engagement activities that strengthen the audience’s commitment to Brands and deliver the true value experience that converts to loyalty externally and internally.“
TBA Global’s Corporate Social Responsibility Council will be spearheaded by Rubenstein and led by Sara Geddes, Director of Client Services at TBA Global. TBA Global’s CSR Council is comprised of a cross-functional team of representatives from executive management, production, creative, destination management, marketing, account management and operations that meet regularly to discuss ideas, trends, best practices, accountability and discuss real world challenges.
Community Engagement
A study by the National Consumers League and Fleishman-Hillard found that Americans expect companies to be actively engaged in the communities in which they operate, going beyond just making charitable contributions. When asked what expectations they have for companies doing business in their own communities, three times as many respondents favor nonfinancial contributions, such as community involvement and volunteerism, over financial contributions.
TBA Global works with its clients to create community engagement programs that best match client objectives and CSR efforts.
Profitable Sustainability: Green Meetings and Events
The importance of sustainability continues to increase as companies look for ways to lessen environmental impact, while saving money and resources. According to the Event Marketing Institute’s 2008 Green Event Imperative study, nearly half [48%] of respondents say the reason behind their transition to green event marketing initiatives is a corporate responsibility mandate.
“Our focus is on ‘Profitable Sustainability’,” said Geddes. “We plan to show that incorporating environmental sustainability in our work is not only beneficial to the environment, but can also save money and add value to our clients’ meetings and events. Adopting eco-friendly measures will pare both company expenses and waste over the long run.”
