A foundation dedicated to fighting breast cancer through education and research turned to TBA to produce and manage all aspects of one of its largest annual fundraising events. Our goals were clear: to take the message beyond the event to a broader audience than ever before, and handle everything from fundraising and sponsorship to event logistics and production. We did so by providing a turnkey solution that met every goal.

The 5k run/fitness walk event took place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. and drew support from celebrities including Katie Couric, who spoke during the pre-Race ceremony and anchored the "CBS Evening News" live from Washington the night before the event. The post-Race festivities featured Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Patti Austin who performed on stage in front of the Capitol building just as runners crossed the finish line. Other activities included the Kids for the Cure activity area, sponsors expo with giveaways and appearances by many local celebrities.

The event was a huge success and attracted nearly 46,000 registrants from around the globe, including more than 3,800 breast cancer survivors and 35 registered embassies. Almost $4 million was raised for breast cancer research and community-based patient support programs.
